Today we had the first of what we plan to be many successful chipping events in Ipswich. With the help of Ipswich Borough Council providing the community room of the Gainsborough sports centre, and the RCSPA Suffolk East & Ipswich local branch volunteering their time and expertise to chip all the animals brought in for £5, 6 dogs and 37 cats are now micro chipped. That is 43 animals in Ipswich now much safer, which we thank the Ipswich Council and RSPCA Ipswich & Suffolk East for helping us to achieve. Our next chipping event is hopefully planned for the beginning of next year and covering the Chantry area. We also want to help publicise that the RSPCA Suffolk East & Ipswich operate a veterinary welfare clinic in Ipswich at 35a, St Georges Street, IP1 3NF. They do discounted treatments including spaying, neutering and chipping for all animals whose owners are currently on benefits. We urge anyone on benefits with money concerns holding them back from treating their animals to remember that the local RSPCA branch is here to help, and their opening times are Tuesdays from 12:15 pm to 1pm, and Fridays from 12pm to 1pm.
