Meeting with Passmore.
Pleased to say that we finally had our meeting with Mr Tim Passmore Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner for Suffolk Constabulary who agrees we need more support.
We have our own Sergeant who we will liaise with and meet once a month. Better links will be created between public and police when a cat goes missing. Call handlers are to refer the caller to our group and website. We also have permission to use the police logo on our posters.
In the meantime we have asked for links to our group to be placed on the Suffolk Constabulary website, and mentioned in their news-feed on Facebook.
Next week we meet Ben Gummer, and hope there we can put forward proposals for changes in the law of cat welfare, which will include making it illegal to hit a cat and drive off, as well as changes to anti freeze, selling of pets for free, compulsory chipping, and tougher pet theft laws, amongst others things.
We hope to continue to support you, and raise awareness on the affects our missing cats have on our lives, and to establish the cause of so many missing.
